Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the bread flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg with the granulated sugar until well blended.
- Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the yogurt. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten to about 1/2-inch thick to form bagels.
- Place the bagels on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each bagel with the egg wash and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning if desired.
Baking
- Bake for 27-30 minutes until golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Let the bagels cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze them and toast straight from frozen. You can prepare the dough a day in advance and store it in the fridge covered.
