  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour Use gluten-free flour if needed.
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar Dark brown sugar works best.
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted Use unsalted butter for better control over sweetness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Butter or grease two 5" oven-safe baking dishes.
Mix the Apples
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well to coat the apples evenly.
Distribute the Apples
  1. Divide the apple mixture between the prepared baking dishes, ensuring even spread.
Cover the Dishes
  1. Cover the baking dishes with aluminum foil to keep moisture in.
Initial Cooking
  1. Air fry the dishes for 10 minutes at 400°F. Shake halfway through for even cooking.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In a small bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
Add the Topping
  1. After 10 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle the topping over the apples.
Final Cooking
  1. Lower temperature to 350°F (175°C) and air fry for an additional 5 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.
Cool and Serve
  1. Remove from air fryer and let cool for about 5 minutes. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce.

Notes

For best results, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
