  • 1 lb smoked sausage, cut into 1/2-inch thick rounds Andouille is recommended for added flavor.
  • 6 slices bacon, cut into halves lengthwise Thick-cut bacon is preferred for better texture.
  • 1.5 tbsp brown sugar Adds a touch of sweetness.
  • 1.25 cup cream cheese, softened Bring to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 0.75 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Feel free to mix in other cheeses.
  • 2 tbsp jalapeƱos, minced Adjust based on heat preference.
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder For extra flavor.
  • to taste BBQ sauce for serving A sweet, tangy sauce recommended.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the smoked sausage into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
  2. Cut the bacon slices in half lengthwise.
  3. Wrap one bacon strip around each sausage round and secure with a toothpick.
  4. Stand each bacon cup upright on a cutting board or use a muffin tin for support.
  5. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, minced jalapeƱos, and garlic powder until smooth.
  6. Spoon the cheese mixture into each bacon cup, mounding it slightly on top.
  7. Sprinkle about 1/4 teaspoon of brown sugar over each filled cup.
  8. Place the cups in your air fryer basket, bacon-side down, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees F for 3 minutes.
  2. Air fry for 10 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the cheese filling is melted.
  3. Let cool for 1-2 minutes before serving with BBQ sauce.

Notes

Don't overcrowd the air fryer. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
