Ingredients

Meatball Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground turkey Look for lean turkey for best flavor.
  • 1 small onion, diced finely Sweet onions work splendidly to add moisture.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Freshly grated is recommended for the best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise Can substitute with Greek yogurt.
  • 1 tsp hot sauce Adjust based on your spice preference.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced Fresh enhances the flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme Or 1 tsp fresh, chopped.
  • 1/2 tsp dried sage Or 1 tsp fresh, chopped.
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary Or 1 tsp fresh, chopped.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp parsley, chopped Use fresh for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, gently combine all the ingredients until just mixed. Avoid overmixing to keep your meatballs tender.
  2. If the mixture feels quite wet, refrigerate it for about 30 minutes to make rolling easier.
  3. Roll the turkey mixture into balls, approximately 1 1/4 inches in diameter.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking and preheat to 400°F.
Cooking
  1. Place the meatballs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each ball.
  2. Air fry for 10 minutes, turning halfway through. Ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  3. Garnish with parsley before serving to add a pop of color.

Notes

Use lean turkey to prevent excess grease. Always check doneness with a meat thermometer. Meatballs can be made in advance and freeze well.
