Ingredients

Salad Base
  • 1 head romaine lettuce Fresh and crisp, the highlight of your salad.
  • 1 cup croutons Store-bought or homemade for that necessary crunch.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated is best for stronger flavor.
Dressing
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Forms the base of the creamy dressing.
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard Adds zing to the dressing.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Freshly squeezed for a bright note.
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced Provides aromatic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Adds depth to the dressing.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for balancing flavors.
  • Olive oil (for drizzling) Use high-quality extra-virgin olive oil.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper until smooth.
  3. Drizzle olive oil into the dressing while whisking continuously to combine.
  4. Pour the dressing over the romaine lettuce and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Add croutons and Parmesan cheese, tossing gently again to avoid crushing the croutons.
  6. Serve immediately for the best texture.

Notes

Storage: Store any leftover dressing in the refrigerator for up to a week. The salad (without croutons) can be stored in an airtight container for about 1-2 days. You can prepare the dressing a day ahead.
