Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a small bowl, blend together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and chopped fresh rosemary.
  3. Generously rub the seasoning mixture all over the prime rib. Let it marinate for at least an hour at room temperature.
  4. Place the prime rib in a roasting pan, bone side down, and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  6. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue to roast until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
  7. Once done, let the roast rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing.
  8. For gravy, use the pan drippings combined with beef broth and simmer until thickened.
