Ingredients

Frosting Base
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Use full-fat cream cheese for a richer texture.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar Sift for a smoother consistency.
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries, pureed Fresh is best; frozen can be used if thawed.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds warmth to the frosting.
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk Add as needed for consistency.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter together using an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until well incorporated—about 2 minutes. Turn the mixer to medium once combined.
  3. Add the pureed blueberries and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.
  4. Check the frosting's texture. If too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time until the desired spreadable consistency is achieved.
  5. Spread or swirl the Blueberry Cream Cheese Frosting on your desired baked goods.
