Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). A properly preheated oven is key to achieving that golden top.
- Grease a baking dish with butter. Use a generous amount to ensure nothing sticks.
- Cut the brioche bread into cubes and place them in the baking dish, aiming for pieces around 1-inch.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well blended.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring that all pieces are soaked. Press down gently to help them absorb the custard.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best results.
Baking
- Uncover and bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a more caramelized top, sprinkle a little extra sugar on the surface before baking. Leftovers can be stored for 3 days in an airtight container or frozen for up to 2 months.
