Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures even baking.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together brown sugar and softened butter until the mixture is smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the egg and maple syrup until well combined. The mixture should look glossy and well-blended.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just incorporated.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Glaze Preparation
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cookies and let it set before serving.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze cookies. You can prepare the dough ahead of time; just wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
