  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Light or dark, depending on your sweetness preference
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low-sodium is a great substitute for a healthier option
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced Fresh garlic brings the best flavor
  • 1 tablespoon onion, minced Shallots can be used for a sweeter taste
For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces chicken breasts You can use boneless, skinless for convenience
  • Salt and pepper to taste Don’t skimp on these; they add depth!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix the Catalina dressing, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced onion in a bowl until well combined.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour; overnight is best.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cooking
  1. Bake chicken for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F).
  2. Baste the chicken with the marinade halfway through baking for extra flavor.
  3. After baking, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a crispy finish, broil the chicken for the last 2-3 minutes. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
