  • 1.5-2 tsp cocoa powder High-quality unsweetened cocoa recommended.
  • 2 bags chai tea Use any preferred brand; recommended Tazo Organic Black Chai.
  • to taste sugar sugar Can use honey or maple syrup for natural sweetness.
Garnishes

  • to taste chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, add water and milk. Drop in the chai tea bags, letting the spices steep over medium heat.
  2. Steep for about 5-7 minutes to extract the full flavor of the tea.
Cooking
  1. Once hot, add cocoa powder, stirring well. Bring to a gentle boil for just a minute.
  2. Turn off the flame and pour the Chocolate Chai Tea into cups using a fine strainer.
  3. Taste your concoction; add sugar to taste and stir if desired.
Garnishing and Serving
  1. Top with a swirl of whipped topping and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
