Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into small squares, about 2x2 inches.
- Place a pinch of mozzarella cheese and a few bits of pepperoni or your desired toppings in the center of each square, being careful not to overstuff.
- Fold the corners of the squares together and pinch to seal, forming little balls.
- Arrange the balls into festive shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
- Whisk together the egg and a tablespoon of water, then brush this mixture gently over each ball.
Baking
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling inside.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, grated Parmesan, and optional herbs.
Serving
- Serve warm with marinara or pesto for dipping.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days, or freeze unbaked bites for up to a month. They can be assembled a day in advance and refrigerated.
