Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb salmon fillet Look for vibrant, firm salmon without any brown spots. Wild-caught if possible.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Use high-quality extra-virgin olive oil for the best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Kosher salt works beautifully here.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground pepper is always preferable.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder This adds a delightful aromatic undertone.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Or fresh if you have it on hand—just double the amount!
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary Crush the dried rosemary for a more intense flavor.
  • 1 lemon, sliced Use fresh lemons for a zesty kick that complements the salmon.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish A pop of color that also adds freshness!

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). This temperature will give you perfectly flaky salmon.
  2. Place the salmon fillet on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the salmon and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, thyme, and rosemary. Spread the spices evenly.
  4. Place lemon slices on top of the salmon.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Ensure to monitor the cooking time carefully to avoid overcooking. Allow the salmon to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
