Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk Look for a good brand like Eagle Brand for that sweet creaminess.
  • 1 can Coconut Milk Full-fat coconut milk gives a richer texture. Thai Kitchen is a reliable choice.
  • 1 can Coconut Cream Adds an extra layer of creaminess—go for Goya if you can find it!
  • 1 cup White Rum A smooth rum enhances the flavor, recommended brands include Malibu or Don Q.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Ensure you use pure vanilla to elevate the flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Freshly ground cinnamon gives a stronger flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg A must for that warm, cozy profile.
  • 1/4 cup Water Use this if you prefer a thinner consistency.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, coconut cream, white rum, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Blend until smooth for about 30-45 seconds.
  2. If you desire a thinner texture, add the optional water and blend again until well combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into a decorative bottle or container. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours; overnight is ideal for optimal flavor infusion.
  4. Before serving, give the Coquito a good shake to make sure everything is evenly distributed. If the mixture separates, shake vigorously.
  5. Serve chilled in glasses, garnished with a dash of cinnamon or a sprinkling of nutmeg for an elegant touch.

Notes

Coquito can last in the fridge for 4-6 days. It’s an excellent make-ahead drink. Adjust sweetness and spice levels to your taste. Flavor infusions can elevate your Coquito, and keeping it chilled is crucial for serving.
