For the cobbler topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 cup milk Almond milk for dairy-free.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Use vegan butter for dairy-free.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Adds a caramel-like flavor.
  • 1 tsp baking powder Ensure freshness for proper rising.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir until the apples are well-coated, then pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
Making the Topping
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, melted butter, brown sugar, and baking powder until smooth. The batter should be airy but not overly runny.
  2. Pour the batter over the apples, spreading it evenly to create a unified cobbler.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving to let the flavors meld together.
