Ingredients
  

For the tart
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry of Choice Use high-quality puff pastry, like Dufour or Pepperidge Farm.
  • 3-4 pieces Medium Pears Ripe pears like Bartlett or Anjou are excellent choices.
  • 1/2 cup Slivered Almonds For added flavor, toast lightly before use.
For the glaze
  • 3 tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup Use grade A or B maple syrup for the richest taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Freshly ground cinnamon is recommended.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract Real vanilla adds depth to the flavors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Thaw the puff pastry and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a small bowl, combine maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Slice the pears in half lengthwise, core them, and cut into 1/8 to 1/4 inch slices.
Assembly
  1. Layer the pear slices on the puff pastry, leaving at least a 1/4 inch border around the edges.
  2. Brush the glaze over the pear slices and the exposed edges of the pastry.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, turning halfway for even browning.
  2. Brush with more glaze after baking and sprinkle slivered almonds on top.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for one day or refrigerate for up to 3 days. You can prepare it up to the baking stage, refrigerate, and bake later.
