Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Thaw the puff pastry and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
- Slice the pears in half lengthwise, core them, and cut into 1/8 to 1/4 inch slices.
Assembly
- Layer the pear slices on the puff pastry, leaving at least a 1/4 inch border around the edges.
- Brush the glaze over the pear slices and the exposed edges of the pastry.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, turning halfway for even browning.
- Brush with more glaze after baking and sprinkle slivered almonds on top.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for one day or refrigerate for up to 3 days. You can prepare it up to the baking stage, refrigerate, and bake later.
