  • 1.25 cups eggnog, room temperature Feel free to use homemade or your favorite brand.
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract Skip imitation extract if possible.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon A warm spice that complements eggnog perfectly.
  • 0.5 teaspoon nutmeg Freshly grated is best for a more intense flavor.
  • 0.125 teaspoon kosher salt A hint to elevate all flavors.
For the French Toast
  • 10-12 slices brioche bread Use a good quality brioche for the best texture.
  • Maple syrup for topping Pure maple syrup is a must.
  • Eggnog whipped cream for topping Optional but delicious addition.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat a griddle to between 350°F and 375°F, lightly spraying with nonstick cooking spray if necessary.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, eggnog, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and kosher salt until smooth and well-combined.
Cooking
  1. Dip a slice of brioche into the eggnog mixture, coating both sides without soaking it.
  2. Place the coated slice on the preheated griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Serve immediately, topped with maple syrup and a dollop of eggnog whipped cream.

Notes

Ensure your eggs and eggnog are at room temperature for smooth blending. You can substitute dairy-free eggnog and non-dairy milk.
