Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 oz Rum Use a good-quality rum like Mount Gay or Flor de Caña for best flavor.
  • 1 oz Lime Juice Freshly squeezed if possible.
  • 1 oz Blood Orange Juice This adds citrus sweetness and a holiday hue.
  • 1/2 oz Allspice Dram This spiced liqueur is essential for that warm, holiday flavor; try St. Elizabeth for authenticity.
  • 1/2 oz Almond Syrup Orgeat works well if you prefer a nutty twist.
  • to taste Crushed Ice For serving.
  • as needed Fresh cranberries and mint leaves For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of rum, 1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 oz of blood orange juice, 1/2 oz of allspice dram, and 1/2 oz of almond syrup.
  2. Fill your shaker with ice and secure the lid. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds or until the outside of the shaker feels cold to the touch.
  3. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with crushed ice.
  4. Top your cocktail with fresh cranberries and mint leaves for a pop of color and festive flair.
  5. Serve immediately to savor the freshness of your cocktail.

Notes

Make sure your juices are freshly squeezed to enhance the cocktail’s flavor. You can prepare the juice mix ahead of time and store it in the fridge, just combine with rum and ice right before serving. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
