Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, melt the unsalted butter, and let it cool slightly before mixing with eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just blended.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, checking at the 10-minute mark.
  2. The edges should be set while the centers remain soft.
Cooling
  1. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a week, or refrigerated for longer life. You can also freeze the cookie dough balls for future baking.
