For the Greek Yogurt Bagels
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Opt for thick, full-fat yogurt for the best flavor and texture.
  • 1 cup self-rising flour Can substitute with 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  • 1 egg egg (for egg wash) Ensure it’s at room temperature for easy whisking.
Optional Toppings
  • sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything bagel seasoning Use organic varieties if available.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Split the dough into equal portions (about 4-6) and shape each into a bagel.
  5. Place the shaped bagels on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle your chosen toppings.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

These bagels can be stored at room temperature for one day, in the fridge for three days, or frozen for three months. Ideal for brunch or quick snacks.
