  • 1 oz cranberry juice Opt for 100% juice without added sugars for the best flavor.
  • 1 oz lime juice Freshly squeezed is key.
  • 2 oz grapefruit juice Look for fresh-pressed or organic juices.
  • 2 oz tequila A smooth blanco tequila works wonderfully.
  • 1 oz spiced simple syrup Homemade; see notes below.
Spiced Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup water Used for the simple syrup.
  • 1 cup sugar Used for the simple syrup.
  • cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange zest Infuse in equal parts water and sugar.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all cocktail ingredients: cranberry juice, lime juice, grapefruit juice, tequila, and spiced simple syrup.
  2. Combine 1 oz cranberry juice, 1 oz lime juice, 2 oz grapefruit juice, 2 oz tequila, and 1 oz spiced simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge or cranberries, and serve immediately.

Notes

Leftover spiced simple syrup can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 weeks. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute tequila with soda water or tonic water.
