  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For warm, comforting taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Helps the cookies rise.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances all the flavors.
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour Foundation for your dough.
  • 1/2 cup M and Ms or festive sprinkles For a cheerful holiday touch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in a stand mixer until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing on low speed until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients and mix until a tacky dough forms.
  5. Gently fold in the M and Ms or festive sprinkles.
  6. Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie and place them spaced out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or in the fridge for 10–12 days. Freeze cookie dough for up to a month.
