  • 1 cup cocoa powder High-quality cacao recommended.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances sweetness and flavor.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional; semi-sweet or dark recommended.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Melt the butter in a large bowl, and let it cool slightly.
  3. Stir the sugar into the melted butter until fully combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  5. In another bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  3. Let cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle sea salt on top just out of the oven. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
