  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise Use whole or low-fat based on preference.

  • 1 cup onions Finely diced; yellow or sweet onions work best.
  • 1 tbsp butter Unsalted is preferable.
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika For that lovely smoky flavor.
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise For sauce: feel free to experiment with flavored mayo.
  • 2 1/2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tbsp pickle relish
  • 12 slider buns Hawaiian rolls Preferably, but any soft slider bun will do.
  • 1 1/4 cup cheddar cheese Shredded; sharp cheddar adds more flavor.
  • 6 slices American cheese For that gooey melty goodness.
  • 3 tbsp butter Melted; use room temperature butter for easy application.
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds Optional topping for added texture.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Finely dice the onions and sauté them in a skillet with 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until softened and lightly golden, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, 1/3 cup mayonnaise, and fish sauce, mixing gently without overworking.
Cooking
  1. Spread the mixture on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes until cooked through. After baking, drain any excess liquid to keep your sliders from getting soggy.
  2. While the turkey is baking, mix together 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 2 1/2 tablespoons ketchup, and 1 1/2 tablespoons pickle relish to make your sauce.
  3. Cut the Hawaiian roll slider buns in half and place the bottoms on a clean baking sheet. Spread the sauce over them for added flavor.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the sauce, ensuring each slider gets a good amount.
  5. Once the turkey is cooked, break it into bite-sized pieces and distribute it among the slider bases. Now, top with the sautéed onions and a slice of American cheese.
  6. Replace the bun tops to complete your sliders.
  7. Create a topping mixture: Combine 3 tablespoons melted butter, 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika. Brush this over the tops of the sliders for an extra burst of flavor.
  8. Bake at 350°F for another 15 minutes until the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted. The aroma will be heavenly!
  9. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. This will ensure melted cheese doesn’t burn mouths.

Notes

Letting the turkey mixture rest for about 10 minutes before forming patties can help flavors meld and improve texture. These sliders store great in the fridge! Keep them in an airtight container for up to 3 days, but they’re best enjoyed fresh. Make-ahead option available.
