Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 large sweet potatoes Look for firm, smooth-skinned sweet potatoes. You can also use zucchini or kale for a unique twist.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Extra virgin olive oil is best for flavor, but avocado oil works just as well; it has a high smoke point.
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt Adjust to your taste! Himalayan pink salt adds a nice touch, too.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Optional. Use smoked paprika for a deeper, rich flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Optional. A sprinkling gives a wonderful savory finish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This is crucial for a quick cooking time.
  2. Thinly slice the sweet potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife into 1/8-inch thick slices.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, coat the sweet potato slices with the olive oil, sea salt, paprika, and garlic powder. Toss to combine.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the slices in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving to enhance crispiness.

Notes

Store leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. For best results, do not refrigerate.
