Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined. Sift if desired.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy—about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and orange zest until well incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Icing
- Whisk together the powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cookies.
Notes
