Preparation
- In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well-coated and resembling wet sand. Set this aside.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest, mixing until creamy.
- In another bowl, whip together the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
Assembly
- In a trifle dish or individual glasses, layer one-third of the graham cracker mixture, followed by half of the lime filling, then a layer of whipped cream. Repeat layers and finish with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with additional lime zest for color and flavor, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Store in the fridge for up to 3 days, but best enjoyed within 24 hours. Adjust sweetness of the lime filling to taste.
