Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour Ensure you use a high-quality blend that includes xanthan gum for better texture.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Consider using honey or maple syrup as a substitute for natural sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast Make sure your yeast is fresh for optimal rising.
  • 1.5 cups warm water Use warm water to activate the yeast, not hot.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Opt for extra virgin olive oil for enhanced flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. Stir in the warm water and olive oil until well combined; the dough will be sticky and wet.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  2. Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a well-floured surface and shape it gently into a ball.
  3. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
  5. Let it cool before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm with herb-infused butter or drizzle with olive oil. Will stay fresh for 3 days at room temperature; can be frozen for longer storage.
