Ingredients
  

For the Turtles
  • 24 pieces mini pretzel twists Adds delightful crunch.
  • 24 pieces soft caramel candies (e.g., Werther's Originals or Kraft Caramels) Melts beautifully and holds shape.
  • 1 cup melting chocolate (preferably dark chocolate) Use good quality for best results.
  • to taste coarse sea salt Enhances flavors.
Prep Notes
  • Butter (optional drizzle) Should be at room temperature for smooth melting.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even melting.
  2. Arrange the pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Place a caramel candy on each pretzel; cut in half for a gooey center if desired.
Baking
  1. Bake for 5-7 minutes, until the caramel is soft but not bubbling.
  2. Remove from oven and immediately press a piece of chocolate on top of each caramel.
Finishing
  1. Allow to cool slightly, then sprinkle with sea salt.
  2. Let them set completely before serving, or speed up the process by placing in the fridge.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage. Customize with nuts or flavored caramels as desired.
