Ingredients
  

Pork
  • 3-4 lbs pork shoulder Choose a bone-in cut for added flavor and moisture.

Aromatics
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
Liquids
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Look for sauces with minimal preservatives for a healthier, more authentic taste.
  • 1 cup chicken broth
Spices
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cumin

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by placing the diced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Generously rub the pork shoulder with paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the seasoned pork on top of the onion and garlic.
  4. Pour the BBQ sauce and chicken broth over the pork.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  2. Once cooked, shred the pork in the slow cooker using two forks.
