Preparation
  1. Place the sliced Granny Smith apples into the slow cooker. Sprinkle in the light brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Gently stir to coat every apple slice evenly.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the oats, flour, light brown sugar, and cinnamon. Pour in the melted butter and mix until you have coarse crumbs.
  3. Pour the oat mixture over the apples, spreading it out into an even layer.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, or on low for 4 hours, checking for tenderness at 1.5 hours.
  2. After the apples are soft, remove the lid and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes to allow the topping to crisp up slightly.
  3. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
