  • 1 lb ground turkey Opt for lean ground turkey; the less fat, the healthier for your pup!
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (unsweetened, no spices) Look for organic pumpkin without any additives. It’s loaded with fiber and vitamins.
  • 1 egg egg A great source of protein to help bind the meatballs and add nutritional value!
  • 1/4 cup oat flour Or coconut flour for a grain-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal Optional, it adds a boost of omega-3 fatty acids.
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric Optional, known for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, pumpkin, egg, oat flour, and flaxseed meal, adding turmeric if using. Mix well.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs, approximately 20-25 in total, and place them on the lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes until fully cooked through and slightly golden.
Cooling and Storing
  1. Cool the meatballs completely before serving for safety.
  2. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

Make sure your egg is at room temperature for even mixing. Optionally, customize the recipe with your dog's preferred ingredients.
