Ingredients

Herb Syrup
  • 1/4 cup sugar Opt for organic cane sugar for a milder flavor.
  • 1/4 cup water Use filtered water for the best taste.
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons rosemary Fresh rosemary packs more flavor than dried.
  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger Fresh ginger elevates the flavor.
Spritzer Base
  • 1 cup white wine Choose a light-bodied wine, like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.
  • 4 teaspoons lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best, but bottled works in a pinch.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger For an extra kick of warmth.
  • 3 teaspoons herb syrup The star of our drink.
  • 1/4 cup club soda Use flavored soda for a fun twist.
  • 1 sprig thyme For garnish.
  • Ice cubes Ice cubes To keep your drink chilled.

Method

Make the Herb Syrup
  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons rosemary, and 2 teaspoons grated ginger. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally (about 2-3 minutes).
  2. Once dissolved, reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Mix the Spritzer
  1. In a large glass or pitcher, combine 1 cup white wine, 4 teaspoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, and 3 teaspoons of herb syrup.
  2. Fill your glass with ice cubes for that perfect chill.
  3. Gently pour in 1/4 cup club soda until it reaches the brim, stirring lightly to combine.
  4. Garnish with a sprig of thyme on top.

Notes

Experiment with different herbs and flavors. Prepare the herb syrup ahead of time to save on mixing when guests arrive.
