Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and active dry yeast. Whisk well.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together milk, melted butter, and egg, ensuring that the butter isn't too hot.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined and knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Baking
  1. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle and spread chocolate chips evenly over the surface.
  2. Roll up the rectangle tightly, pinching the seams to seal, and slice into rolls about 1 inch thick.
  3. Place the rolls in a greased baking pan and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Icing
  1. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and cocoa powder until smooth, then drizzle over warm rolls.
