Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Must be at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar Light or dark brown sugar can be used.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla is recommended.
Add-ins
  • 1 cup pastel sprinkles Choose a quality brand for vibrant colors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, taking care not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the pastel sprinkles.
Baking
  1. Drop generous tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, underbake by 1-2 minutes. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or freeze for longer storage.
