Topping

  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour To bind everything together.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon For added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter an 8x8 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss your chopped apples with granulated sugar, 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. Transfer the apple mixture to your greased baking dish.
Making the Topping
  1. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Baking
  1. Evenly spread the crumbly topping over the apple mixture.
  2. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Serving

Notes

Leftovers can last in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best texture. You can assemble everything up to the baking step a day in advance.
